Hello Anna,

This is Simran from Careers360, I hope to solve your query

ADI SHANKARA INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY and FEDERAL INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY both are colleges that attract foot fall of students in large numbers every year, all those who want to pursue engineering.

This may be considered as second- tier colleges.

Amongst both of them FISAT has higher ranking in education, value for money, activities, college placements etc.

https://admission.aglasem.com/top-engineering-colleges-in-kerala/

In this link it is clearly shown that FISAT is much higher than ASIET.

I hope this helps.

All the best

            Effective Elementary Dictionary Usage

            By Betsy | Classroom Caboodle

Using an elementary dictionary is not a standard that’s outlined in the Common Core curriculum, but it is a critical skill that must be taught if we want our students to effectively edit their own writing.

And yes, there is a place for a paper dictionary even in this age of electronic resources… or, more accurately, paper dictionaries should be used in conjunction with electronic resources as I outline below.

In many schools, kids learn dictionary use in library. But with budget cutbacks, the library class is sometimes the first things to go. So it falls upon the classroom teacher to show students how to look up words in the traditional manner.

A quick lesson avoids a lot of frustration

            Getting ready for dictionaries

An elementary dictionary can be overwhelming to students. Just consider how much information is packed into even a simple volume written for kids. Not only do they outline pronunciation (often written with strange phonetic characters), but they also include multiple definitions.

Add this to the fact that kids’ poor spelling often does not allow them to effectively look up words, and we can start to appreciate that a dictionary (like all texts) must be introduced with effective instruction.

Need examples and discussion points for every standard?

You don’t have to struggle to find complete explanations and examples of Common Core standards in ELA and math… because I’ve done it for you!

Check out all of my Common Core Guidebooks

            Common Core Guidebooks

In my fourth-grade classroom, I avoid using dictionaries for several months when it comes to simply looking up words for proper spelling. Dictionaries can be effective for looking up the meaning of words that kids already know how to spell, but if they don’t know how to spell it, it’s very rare that they can actually find it in the dictionary.

In addition, children must know their alphabet and how to alphabetize.

Instead, we use “yellow spellers” from Curriculum Associates. These are great little books that are actually mini-dictionaries. They are also useful for spelling instruction.

I especially like that kids can write in their own words when they discover one with which they have difficulty.

Here’s how I use them in my room.

Video tips: using a mini dictionary

            Introducing dictionaries

Once my students have solidified their ability to spell a bit, they are then introduced to the use of dictionaries. In my classroom, I have eight.

            How many do you need?

You might wonder why I only have a limited number of dictionaries in my room. First of all, they take up precious shelf space!

Also, I have yet to find a situation when all of my students truly need a dictionary at the same time. During writing, kids hit the editing/revising point at different times and they often rely on words with which they are familiar – ones they don’t need to look up.

I also only have six thesauri for students to share – and it works great.

It’s certainly important to provide an overview of how a dictionary is set up and what information each entry provides.

            Teaching elementary dictionary use

When I teach “how to read a dictionary entry,” I enlarge a few entries and copy them so each student has one. Then we highlight, underline and circle the parts of the entry that are most useful for our purpose (and our purpose changes depending upon what we are studying).

For example, we might look for pronunciation at times and word meaning at other times.

After practicing reading a dictionary entry (this is yet another genre of reading!) I move on to guide words and how dictionaries are organized. I go with an inside-out approach: I don’t let kids handle elementary dictionaries until they understand the entries.

An elementary dictionary is a critical tool for students to effectively edit their own writing.

            Online dictionaries

I have found that teaching the use of a paper dictionary is actually the best introduction to using an online dictionary, such as Dictionary.com. Once they understand how a paper dictionary is arranged, it makes much more sense when they see the same information on a website.

Dictionary.com is a great resource for English-language learners because it provides auditory word pronunciations.

The history of Indian literature can be traced to the sixth century B.C., when the great epics were composed in verse. The most significant feature of Indian literature is its diversity, which is due to the country’s variety of languages and sub-cultures. Poetry is one of the greatest genres. Indian poets have been writing in English since the early 19th century and their work is widely read all over the world. Here are the ten most famous Indian English poets.

Rabindra Nath Tagore (1861- 1941) was one of the greatest writers in the history of Indian literature. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913. Though he wrote in almost all literature genres, it is as a poet he was internationally recognized. The Irish poet W.B. Yeats introduced Tagore to western readers. Tagore was the first Indian poet to gain a permanent place in the canon of world literature. His poems express intense romantic and mystic sensibilities and can be compared to those of William Wordsworth and William Blake for their mystic and romantic spirit. Gitanjali is considered as his masterpiece and his most famous collection is The Gardener, Fruit Gathering, Fugitive, and other poems.

              History[ edit ]

Trinity College Glenalmond was founded as an independent school by the future Prime Minister , William Gladstone and James Hope-Scott (later Hope-Scott of Abbotsford). [1] The land for the school was given by George Patton, Lord Glenalmond who for the rest of his life, in company with his wife Margaret, took a keen interest in its development and success. [2] It was established to provide teaching for young men destined for the ministry of the Scottish Episcopal Church and where young men could be brought up in the faith of that Church. [1] It was originally known as The Scottish Episcopal College of the Holy and Undivided Trinity of Glenalmond. [2] The school opened its doors on 4 May 1847 to fourteen boys (though one boy, Lord Kerr , later Marquess of Lothian and Secretary for Scotland , arrived a day early). [1] The first Warden (headmaster) was Charles Wordsworth . [1]

The Edinburgh architect John Henderson worked on the project in 1841-51; later the firm were to be re-employed with his son George Henderson in charge on rebuilding work after a fire in 1893. In 1955 Basil Spence was engaged to alter the chapel. [3]

Until 1990 Glenalmond was an all-boys school. Girls were then initially accepted into the sixth form only, and the school became fully co-educational in 1995. [1]

In 2007 the school was at the centre of a national media row after pupils reportedly created a spoof video that featured them “hunting” ” chavs ” (a derogatory term in use in the UK) on horseback and with rifles. [4] [5] [6] The school condemned the video. [7] The school was the subject of a documentary broadcast on BBC 2 in Autumn 2008. Pride and Privilege chronicled a year in the life of Glenalmond and followed a number of pupils and teachers. [8]

              Boarding houses[ edit ]

There are eight boarding houses: Cairnies, Goodacre’s, Home, Lothian, Patchell’s, Reid’s and Skrine’s. [2]

                    Raw

Timid Justine (Garance Marillier), raised a strict vegetarian, undergoes severe hazing when she becomes a student vet. Forced by her sister Alexia (Ella Rumpf) to eat raw rabbit’s kidney, she discovers strange new carnivorous cravings.

                  ★★★★

If it were just about veterinary school initiation rites, writer-director Julia Ducournau’s Raw — the English-language release title offers as many meanings as the original French Grave — would be unsettling and shocking enough. On her first night in a hall of residence, repressed rookie Justine (Garance Marillier) and her new roommate, gregarious gay guy Adrien (Nait Oufella), are both hauled out of bed by veteran students who act like masked terrorists. All the freshers are made to crawl slowly through a car park in night-clothes to a raucous rave — one of many sequences here in which people are reduced to acting (and suffering) like animals. Later, the whole class is doused in blood Carrie-style and have to wear stained whites to lectures — while Justine’s own older sister Alexia (Ella Rumpf) makes her eat an unidentifiable lump of pickled meat she’s told is a rabbit’s kidney. The hazing gets even more personal as girls and boys are sloshed with blue and yellow paint respectively, then told to go into a room and not come out ’til they’re all green.

Despite its body horror credentials, it’s also a tender, subtle film about family.

Amid all this Animal House/Jackass business, virginal vegetarian Justine’s awakening to the joys of eating meat might almost go unnoticed if it weren’t for the gleam in her eye as she goes from being nauseated when a stray meatball turns up in her mashed potatoes to pocketing a burger, sneaking out for shawarma and gazing longingly at spilled blood. After a Cronenbergian rash has peeled off her like a snakeskin, her mood swings and odd cravings — such as eating and sicking up her own hair — become more extreme. The film tips its hand in an astonishing sequence as a bizarre Brazilian waxing accident leads to Justine’s sister Alexia snipping off her own finger. With a jolly dog around to shoulder the blame, Justine takes advantage of the situation to use the severed digit first as a lipstick… and then as a chewy snack.

After that, there’s no going back to hummus, and Alexia, who has already undergone her own away-from-home transformation, shows her sister ways of satisfying her hunger, but long-simmering family tensions (and that gnawed finger) mean the relationship has startling downs between the genuinely moving ups. As often in classy horror, turning into a monster also means sexual liberation, with Justine exploring the far reaches of sexuality — though horny student guys (even theoretically not-interested Adrien) soon find she’s more predator than prey.

Justine and Alexia are never explicitly characterised as supernatural creatures, but the sisters — affectingly portrayed by newcomers Garance Marillier (who first played Justine in Ducournau’s short, Junior) and Ella Rumpf — owe a kinship with (mostly female) movie monsters like the French gourmet vampires of Trouble Every Day and the Canadian werewolf sisters of Ginger Snaps. Ducournau turns an unflinching camera eye on physical processes, as the sisters bond by trying to pee standing up and a very un-James Herriot sequence involves that old vet standby of an arm up a cow’s rectum. Often, Raw seems mercifully to elide horrors which take place between scenes only for a phone-video clip or a turned-back sheet to show the worst. And then there’s Joana Preiss and Laurent Lucas, who contribute tiny, creepily perfect performances as the girls’ parents. It turns out, despite its body horror credentials, it’s also a tender, subtle film about family.

A classy French-Belgian horror with an unusual female perspective on monstrous taboos. Shocking but not sensationalist, this is a strong cannibal movie worth chewing over.
